I often say that, when it comes to breakfast buffets, size does not really matter. This is usually to rate a small buffet highly. In this case, however, it is for the opposite reason. This is a very large and very varied buffet. There is Vietnamese (of course!), Japanese, Indian, Spanish, vegetarian, Western and possibly much more. The food looks attractive. But once you start sampling, the impression changes. Most things are fine; but that’s just it. They’re fine, but nothing more. In fairness, there are some parts that do exceed. Good choice of cold cuts and fish but disappointing cheese (cheddar and emmentaler only). The fresh fruit is fine and there’s a wide choice of warm dishes from all the cuisines mentioned. But: the bread is very uninspiring in choice and even more so in taste. The croissants were possibly the worst I have ever tried and certainly the worst for what should be a high-quality establishment. The tea is bags only, but this is to be expected. So this should have been a real high-rater, but, in the end, I will settle for 6.5/10; decent, but certainly not worth a detour.
