Caravelle Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 19 October 2025

My faith in the Southeast Asian breakfast has been restored! This was actually a smaller buffet than at the Royal Hotel Saigon, but considerably better. The one drawback I might mention was that the tea was, of course, bags only. But otherwise: the bread was very good, the croissants were excellent. A nice spread of cold and warm dishes, both local as well as regional (Japanese and Korean, including some very nice Korean dumplings) and of course Western. The bacon was amazingly crispy! A very good choice of cold cuts, cheeses and vegetables. The fresh fruit nicely presented. Overall, the quality was high. I would have rated this an 8, but the sign about not overloading your plate and being charged if you leave a lot of food, raises this to 8.5/10.
