First Hotel Kungsbron, Stockholm, 5 April 2018

I am biased in favour of Swedish hotel breakfasts, but — I would say — justifiably so. Here we have a fairly cheap, no-frills hotel (e.g., no window in the room), admittedly well located. In other countries, this would mean a sparse breakfast as well. Not so here. A decent spread at the buffet, including meatballs and plättar, the tiny Swedish pancakes, good choice of cheeses and cold-cuts. The drawbacks are very little fruit (a bowl of fruit salad), no loose-leaf tea and perhaps there could have been a better choice of bread. Also, neither herring, nor salmon. Still, a very nice breakfast and definitely a 4.5/10.
