A charming hotel, inside the old Castle of Sedan, the biggest castle in medieval Europe. Breakfast was nice. Good choice of bread, oranges ready to squeeze, nice spread of cereals, cold cuts and choice of fresh cheese (good) and cheeses in plastic (less so). No loose leaf tea but a samovar for hot water, giving an extra point for style. However, the egg boiler was clearly malfunctioning and the warm part of the buffet was disappointing (unimpressive scrambled eggs and bacon). Bearing in mind that this is a four-star hotel, it should have been better, and the verdict is therefore 5.5/10.
