I always find it more difficult to rate a la carte breakfasts than buffets. With buffets, I can (and do, purely out of dedication to my readers!) sample lots of dishes. With a la carte, it’s obviously more a hit and miss story, where you are dependent on your one – or at most two – choices. So, what to say? Excellent service. The tea is loose-leaf. The menu is western only, big on cooked dishes (eggs in many different varieties), but there are also lots of healthy (healthier?) options. Everything is beautifully presented. The Eggs Royale were excellent. The jams included a delicious orange and lemon marmalade, which should have been out of bounds for me on sugar grounds, but I had to taste it and I’m glad I did. I asked a very kind couple at the next table what they thought of their breakfast (the full Frenglish, I think) and they gave it 8/10. All things considered, I think this is where I would also land, and I have to point out that this is, in my book, a very high mark for an a la carte breakfast. 8/10.
