OK, it’s unlikely that readers will come upon this place, but – a breakfast is a breakfast. And I am temporarily spending Sunday mornings in Hanoi biking with a very friendly informal club, whose rides always include a breakfast break; and indeed a coffee break. I wonder if they actually bike to eat. So: the traditional breakfast is phở, the ‘national dish’ of Vietnam, a noodle soup with beef or chicken or fish. In today’s case, beef (phở bò = beef phở). On the one hand, my fellow bikers said this phở should rank 9/10. But, on the other hand, I must say that I was not as enthused. In any case, this was a one-dish (albeit with variations) place and so I cannot really award it more than 4/10. Pass by and try it. But not somewhere you specifically go to eat from more than, say, a block away.
