Different countries (obviously) have different breakfast traditions. French hotel breakfasts tend to have less choice than, say, Nordic or Middle Eastern. Therefore, they should be judged not only relative to breakfasts everywhere, but also relative to the local/national tradition. This is a case in point. A fairly small buffet, notably with very few hot dishes (scrambled eggs, bacon and chicken sausage; is this a concession to British and/or American visitors?) However, what there is on the cold side, is top quality, notably, of course, the bread and cheese. They could do with more vegetables, and the tea is bags only. But the fruit juices are freshly squeezed, and the staff is exceedingly helpful. When the coffee machine was broken, one staff member took the trouble to go away and make a proper cappuccino elsewhere, to give but one example. It is slightly difficult to rate this, I was going to say 6.5/10, but the helpfulness of the staff and the excellent scrambled eggs combine to move me to 7/10.
