A quick getaway for a few days to the Greek Island of Hydra and a stay at the Phaedra hotel. The name of the hotel no doubt taken from Sophia Loren’s character in the 1957 film titled Boy on a Dolphin .The breakfast is served on a lovely terrace surrounded by whitewashed villas and the sound of church bells and donkeys hooves. It’s a varied daily menu with staples of boiled egg, fruit and some pastries. Today there’s a selection of cold cuts and cheeses, on other days feta and sliced tomatoe. Good black coffee , the other member of the party chose tea served in a small tea pot, didn’t check if it was loose tea or a tea bag inside. It may not be the fanciest or most plentiful breakfast but certainly ticks the required boxes and earns a solid 6.5/10. (Oren Zauder)
